Sexual misconduct was widespread at the first weekend of Coachella, a new investigation by Teen Vogue has found.
Wellness Editor Vera Papisova interviewed 54 women at the festival, all of whom told her that they had been groped, inappropriately touched, or otherwise harassed over the course of the three-day event. Papisova herself was not immune: “During the 10 hours I was reporting on this story, I was groped 22 times,” she wrote.



Music festivals are meant to be spaces for people to relax, make new friends, and enjoy music, but the harsh reality is that many people attend with the expectation that they will not be safe in these environments.
Sexual assault is known to be prevalent at music events, but like most music festivals, Coachella doesn't seem to provide sexual-assault literature for the people attending.
