This is a very odd story with a supposed tragic ending. Why did it take so long to discover the two bodies? The bodies were found in the open next to some bushes supposedly. The weather in southern California has been very hot lately, fluctuating from the mid to upper 90s. If these two were truly lost, they would've been found under some area that provides shade whether that be a tree or near a mountain side of some kind.

Also, normally when in a situation such as this, usually one person goes on to find help. Many resources and methods were used in the search including that of search dogs. The smell of death travels very far and it still took close to 3 months to discover the two bodies. Anyone who has been around dead bodies know how distinct and pugnent the smell is. Some things don't add up here.

Lastly, check out the family name of the "victims".

What date did the couple supposedly enter the park then becoming missing? July 27th, written 7/27 or in other countries 27/7, like 277.
