490 | Flames Engulf Homes in Oak Park as Massive Woolsey Fire Prompts Evacuations Along Ventura-L.A. County Line, November 9, 2018
Flames engulfed several homes in Oak Park as a massive blaze continued to rage early Friday amid strong winds, prompting mandatory evacuations for several communities along the Ventura-L.A. county lines and closures on the 101 Freeway.
Woolsey Fire erupted around 2:30 p.m. Thursday near the Santa Susana Field Laboratory south of Simi Valley. It exploded to 2,000 acres by 6 p.m. As of 1 a.m., it grew to 4,000 acres.
*Update @ 1:38: In all my life in observing the main stream, current events and such, I have cannot recall an event which expanded past the normal broadcast hours. Whether it were, earthquakes, mass shootings, numerous other fires that have stirred up in the recent years / months, along with a plethora of other events to be unnamed, the news broadcasting television stations have always obided by their normal broadcast hours, which typically reached 11:30 PM. The news coverage has been running continuously on various mainstream channels on my local broadcast; ie. CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX as well as other local stations. and is still on and running.
Interesting to note . . .
