The weekend is off to a very hot start with record-breaking temperatures across several communities in Southern California on Friday.
Downtown Los Angeles shattered its record at 10:15 a.m. with 95 degrees, according to the National Weather Service, and the forecast calls for a high of 106 later in the afternoon. The previous record high of 94 degrees was set in 1992.
