Multiple people were found shot inside a home in Watts before an officer-involved shooting occurred, leaving one person dead and others injured as the suspect was taken into custody early Sunday.

before 6 a.m., gunfire broke out at a home near Defiance Avenue and
East 95th Street and when officers arrived to the scene, they discovered
multiple people shot inside, police said. Video of the scene shows
officers with their guns drawn as they make their way into the home.

At some point, a man allegedly started firing at police and an officer-involved shooting followed, authorities said. By the end of the incident, five people were shot.
No officers were shot and the suspect was eventually taken into custody, police said. Two people were rescued from the home and transported to medical treatment.
Police said the suspect was also transported to medical care. No other details were released by officials as the investigation continues.
