People refuse to take public transportation due to the risks that are involved. I don't blame them. After all, it is Los Angeles. Less it is a busy neighborhood or in broad day light, even those two elements are not enough to deter thieves, robbers, burgularies,  assailants or other evil individuals planning on doing harm to others.
