Women prefer the single life to men because they put the work in in relationships, new research suggests.   Data from a survey carried out by consumer analysts Mintel shows that 61 per cent of single women are happy with their relationship status compared to 49 per cent of single men.  The study also showed that 75 per cent of single women have not actively looked for a relationship in the past year, compared to 65 per cent of single men.

Women are discouraged from getting into relationships because apparently, "they are hard work," (which they are, not saying that they're not but this is the main reason? Come on. There are an assortment of factors that come into play when it comes to relationships but okay.

Women prefer being single as opposed to being in relationships because it's hard work? Really? The majority of girls I know may say that they're not looking, but if given the proper chance, with the right guy, then they can't take their mind off of it and it seems there are no bounds... I've seen girls go through the impossible just to stand near by their desired significant other. Guys are no exception to this as well. It's actually quite cute and comedic sometimes.

There are a variety of reasons why relationships work for some people while not so much for others. Occupations, work, school, family life along with other previous commitments and responsibilities can weigh heavily on those who are maintaining relationships with their significant others. I would like to think relationships come more naturally to women than to men.

Communication is vital. Don't let resentment fester and build up. Talk it out with one another, be patient, try to be understanding of where the other person is coming from and be considerate of others. These are a few qualities that will go a looong way. One would think this would all be common sense. I'm not one to be giving out relationship advice.
